Here is a shot of my Bader-III variable speed grinder set-up with a flat platen. This attachment has been modified with a work rest extension and glass covered platen. The glass platen creates a very flat and smooth surface while the work rest gives a larger work surface and a place to work off the side of the belt. The grinder is mounted on a hinge plate that is attached to a floor stand filled with 100 pounds of sand. The sand dampens vibration and holds the stand firmly when the machine is turned on its side for operations such as profile grinding.
