Thank you for visiting my web site. My name is Andrew McLurkin, and I specialize in collector grade folders, using folders, and fixed blades of interest. I use blade materials such as patterned damascus, mosaic damascus, ATS-34, BG-42, and CPM steels. I like natural handle materials such as pearl, ancient ivory, and stabilized wood. I also use synthetic handle materials such as carbon fiber, micarta, and G10. For bolsters and guards I use a wide range of materials including patterned and mosaic damascus, titanium, stainless steel, mokume, nickel silver, and blued steel. Titanium frames are often anodized, and file work and other embellishments are used to enhance visual appeal.

My passion is custom knives and craftsmanship is my guiding principle. I design and make knives one at a time using the highest quality materials available. Each knife is given my all, and I will not let a knife go out of my shop until I am satisfied with its function, form, fit and finish. If it’s not right, I work to correct it. If it cannot be corrected I start over. My primary goal is to produce knives of exceptional quality and value. I make each knife as if I were making it for myself.

I have been fortunate to have my work covered in publications such as Knives Illustrated, Blade, and Knives annual, as well as local press. For an internet resource please follow this link to a feature article at Blades International.

As a customer you can count on receiving a quality product that meets or exceeds your expectations. My work is guaranteed for as long as I am able to make knives with two exceptions. One is that I cannot guarantee natural handle materials such as wood and ivory, which can crack and shrink with changes in humidity and natural drying. The other is that I will not guarantee knives that are abused. For example: used for prying, throwing, left in harsh environments, etc. All knives require care, and I reserve the right to decide what constitutes abuse. I will repair damage to one of my knives once you and I agree to a remedy. I offer free sharpening of the knives that I have made. If you send a knife to me for repair or sharpening please include return postage including insurance to cover the replacement cost of the knife.

Visit the Knives page. If you like one of the available styles or want to talk about a design you have in mind, I look forward to working with you to provide the custom knife you are seeking. Do not hesitate to call or email me with questions or concerns. I want you to be happy with your knife.
